Mollusk is pleased to announce a special exhibition with long-time Mollusk comrade Thomas Campbell entitled "Overwhelming Color Fast."
Campbell will be totally filling The Mollusk SF gallery (floor, walls, ceiling) with new works and a large smattering of pieces from his dusty archive (photos, paintings, video installation, sculptures, ceramics, prints, weird sleds, and other junk). There will be a fire sale aspect to this show, so most pieces will have extremely slashed prices. This show will run November 19th to December 15th (in time for Xmas gift giving).
The opening reception is November 19th from 7 to 10pm. There will be live music featuring a very heavy cast of musical friends. Tommy Guerrero, Andy Cabic of Vetiver, and Alexi Glickman and Soupy Dave from Sandy's will be forming to lay down a song cycle jam type situation. That will be accompanied by projected visuals by Mr. Campbell as well. This event is not one to miss.

Born Goofy is a collection of simplistic works, mirroring McNeil's humor and quick witted thought process.
McNeil has published several art books, co-founded The Art Park (which has supported many celebrated Mollusk artists through it's residency program) and designed endless merchandise for musicians including the Beastie Boys, Beck, Pavement, Rolling Stones, Dinosaur Jr and Sonic Youth.

We are stoked to present the San Francisco screening of George Trimm's newest film, Forbidden Trim - Thursday, August 4th at 7pm at the historical Roxie Theater in San Francisco!
This Kickstarter funded surf flick was shot entirely on Super 8 and 16mm film, and features a truly epic cast including Colin Whitbread, Bradford Walters, Benny Geren, Danica Elbertse, Brooks Nielson, Toshi Tanaka, Jared Mell, Alex Mars, Alex Knost, Martin Lazlo, Reno Galassi, Lanna Lyon, Brian Stewart, Danielle Ramaziotti, Andy Nieblas, and Harrison Roach shot across five different countries.
Described as a recon mission that throws the main character, Kilroy, into Calderon – a top secret stretch of secluded land in Central America where the coast is wild and the waves are perfect. Kilroy’s superiors look for intelligence on a global crime syndicate rumored to be controlling this forbidden coastline. Using surfers as cover, Kilroy finds himself face to face with the Big Boss himself where he must decide who and what he’s fighting for. The film uses practical effects techniques from the past including the building of miniatures that were photographed and edited into the movie. The film is custom score by The Forbidden Trim Band and features songs from additional artists such as The Budos Band, La Femme, and Fuzz.
This screening is likely to sell out so pick up your tickets online through the Roxie Theater here. Any tickets left will be available for sale at the box office.

Welcome to an alternate dimension, one where creativity and imagination are boundless, where the vicissitudes of life ...pale in comparison to the utter joy of experience in the moment. Where surfers entwine with their environment, to create, and express themselves, in a place called "THE ZONE". The Zone is a sacred slice of spacetime that very few people get to experience... it is the synchronization of the speed of the wave and the speed of the wave rider that is achieved by placing ones self in the power source of a particular wave form.

For all of his career Dave Parmenter has worked in a backyard setting, never advertising or seeking out orders other than from a select clientele of extended family and friends. Parmenter’s Aleutian Juice Surfboards are offered to the serious surfer interested in riding a board designed and hand-built by one of the most experienced and versatile surfer/shapers in the world.
"Aleutian Juice reminds me of the mystery and spiritual awe that I used to feel as a boy contemplating the waking of the Aleutian Low each autumn, and the mystery and spiritual awe I felt peering into the secret and sacred shaping rooms where our high priests carved out the wonderful spears with which we would challenge those powerful swells." - Dave Parmenter
